After a full week since the last "feel good moment" from your Pittsburgh Pirates (see picture below this post), finally some good news. The signings of high school STUDS Jameson Taillon and Stetson Allie instantly make the two the Bucs' best pitching prospects. This helps me forget just how miserable watching baseball has been since the all-star break.
Jameson Taillon 6'6" 225 (compared by many a scout to Roger Clemens and Josh Beckett), fastball near 100mph with wicked movement, and two quality breaking pitches. Could be in Pittsburgh by 2013.
Stetson Allie, 6'4" 225 (who sounds like he should be the Texan) with a big 100mph fastball needs a bit more refinement, probably looking at 2014 before his PBC debut.
There are a whole bunch of other guys signed, but for that info you should be checking out Tim's fine website http://www.piratesprospects.com/ Can you guess what I'll be drinking tonight at trivia? You guessed it. Jameson on the rocks.
Go Bucs!

Hopefully both of them pan out. Both are young, cheap and have a lot of potential. You know baseball is all about Pitching and Defense.

Last year they had the fewest errors in the league with 73. Then they pissed off the coach primarily responsible for that in the offseason. Now they're awful again, 7th most in MLB. Not quite comparing apples to apples with all the roster turnover, and using the worst of all fielding stats, but it shows they have a long way to go still.
The coach your talking about would be Rich donnelly, right? It doesn't help when you lose/trade a Jack Wilson. Who's the shortstop now?
Perry Hill was the infield coach, but he got upset when Jack, Freddy and Adam got traded. Ronny Cedeno is the current SS, and looking at the free agents options, we'll probably be stuck with him in '11. He's just OK.
