So far in 2011, the hallmark of this team is their ability to avoid the few hot and the many cold stretches that have sunk them in the past. Their 18 road wins surpass last year, and there's still half the summer to go. I was interested to see just how consistent the team has been, so I looked at the records of the teams in series' so far this year since so much as been made (and rightfully so) of winning the series and letting the math work itself out. I have not taken into consideration 2/3/4-game series lengths, because that's just too cumbersome for this infrequent blogger. But, it's a pretty good indication that the early season success is real, thanks to the pitching and Clint Hurdle (when he's not bunting).
