A Whole New (Ronny) Ballgame!

The Ronny Cedeno Era has begun ...
Neil finally blows the pirate ship up properly, sending Jack Wilson and Ian Snell to Seattle for 5 players, including a new shortstop referenced above, slugging prospect Jeff Clement, and 3 minor league arms. Clement's Indianapolis debut? 2 home runs. Neil also sent Freddy Sanchez to San Francisco for uber-prospect Tim Alderson. The 20 year-old instantly becomes the best pitching prospect in the organization. And then Neil finishes it off by sending John Grabow and Tom Gorzellany to the Cubbies for starter Kevin Hart, and a couple of minor leaguers. Hart will step right in to the rotation, and couldn't do much worse than Virgil Vasquez. To simplifly things (I'll let others do exaustive breakdowns) - for 3 major leaguers and 2 minor leaguers, the Buccos get 2 major leaguers, 2 top prospects, and 5 others. Most observers say the Pirates were winners at the deadline. As much as I hated seeing Freddy and Jack leave the 'Burgh, I have to say the bounty was worth it. Remember, if we can lose with the likes of McLouth, Morgan, Burnett, Hinske, LaRoche, Wilson, Snell, Sanchez, Grabow and Gorzellany (and lets not forget to mention Bautista, Paulino, Bay, Nady and Marte) - they can lose without them too, and be primed for the future, something they haven't been for a looooong time.
VIVA RONNY CEDENO! GO BUCCOS!
