- Inexplicably, for Eric Hinske and 400k they got two minor leaguers from the Yankees, who could have had him on waivers for 800k. Buccos win!
- For Sean Burnett and Nyjer Morgan (future Nationals' cornerstones!!), they got a hard throwing reliever in Joel Hanrahan and 5-tool project Lastings Milledge, once untouchable in the Mets organization, still only 24. Buccos win!
- The moves also mean that Garrett Jones gets a shot (and has impressed with a double, triple and home run performance against the Mets) and Jeff Salazar gets a cup of coffee as well
Charlie Morton looked awesome last night, making the McLouth trade look better and better ... Ryan Doumit is rehabbing, should be back sooner after the all-star break ... The Buccos signed 3 players from Taiwan, but the real prize in Miguel Angel Sano, called "Albert Pujols in Hanley Ramirez' body" and the Buccos seems to be high on his list. Make it happen boys ....
Today's July 4 (Happy Birthday USA), which means fireworks at the Vic tonight, weather permitting. Ian Snell takes the mound, and gee I sure hope that electric Indianapolis crowd doesn't cheer or say too much, just site on their hands and pays attention and supports him regardless of results (17k's or 9-20 record). Don't worry Ian, we're really only there for the fireworks. I promise not too boo ....
