Cautious Optimism

That's all I can say about the 3 game sweep against a poor Giants team. Cautious optimism. It looks like Russell made a nice choice in swapping Freddy and Nate in the batting order. That puts a little more pressure on the opposing pitchers (assuming they keep hitting of course). So 4 more at home, and a nice little roll with a hot Braves team (6 in a row) coming in, and these matchups. Tonight is Glavine vs. Snell followed by: Sat, May 10 7:05 pm EDT T. Gorzelanny vs. C. James Sun, May 11 1:35 pm EDT Z. Duke vs. J. Jurrjens Mon, May 12 12:35 pm EDT P. Dumatrait vs. T. Hudson Let's hope Ian can reclaim some of his mojo, and set the tone for the soft lefties. He's been weak for sure in his last few starts. The Reds go to Shea this weekend, so there's a chance to stretch that 1.5 game lead on 5th place too! Oh, and what is going on here? If they wanted Morgan to get playing time in Indy, then they should have called Thompson up, who's knocking the cover off the ball, not trading for another OF'er they don't need. This sounds like a precursor to trading a big league corner OF'er to me. Ugh.
